Meet the Owner!
Teresa Beam Bartlett, a lifelong resident of McCurtain County, has ventured into several businesses over the years. A person with many passions, she has spent 40 plus years in education as a reading specialist and school psychologist with other areas of certification and licensure. In 2013 she opened a fitness center and still has it available to the public today. After spending from 2005 to 2016 owning cabins and as a cabin management business owner with the upcoming tourism interest, she later sold her cabin businesses and became a realtor. Still serving Oklahoma as one of the top realtors in the area, she spends many hours sharing her passion for the business with others and assisting clients with buying and selling property.
As a child growing up in McCurtain Co, some of her fondest memories were of her family camping trips. Her family spent many Thanksgiving holidays camping on Bigham and other areas of Broken Bow Lake using army tents with cots. Camping in tents and skiing from early morning until dark was a long running summer family tradition. As the family grew, a decked out old army bus was the next step up for fall and summer camping and finally the purchase of a classic RV! When her two boys were born, they spent many hours camping by the river in Beavers Bend State Park and on Broken Bow Lake. The camping experience is something she's cherished over the years as the most memorable times in her life!
Teresa currently lives on her cattle ranch in Broken Bow, OK around the corner from where she lived as a child growing up. Her Dad of 97 years lives there today and he is one of her strongest supporters. Her newest venture has been to develop the Cherokee Wild RV Resort along with input from her two sons, Brylee and Braden. Cherokee Wild is a name she thought fitting as she is of Cherokee Indian descent. She has carved out a portion of her land to share the exciting and memorable experiences with others who enjoy RV'ing in a natural setting. While relaxing in one of the full service sites with luxurious landscaping, you may well have a creature of the forest pass through. This 20 site facility is a growing endeavor. Coming soon will be a bathhouse and laundry, pickleball courts, an additional playground and either a pool or splash pad. We have the best wifi in Southeast Oklahoma and offer leveled internet opportunities from Bronze to Platinum.
We are a personal and friendly park with nightly, monthly and beyond occupancy. Call for additional information and we would be glad to personally answer any questions you may have. Help me live my dream!
